Abiding means to continue in the relationship with the Lord Jesus, by means of accepting and doing His word so that we bear fruit, that is have positive results in our lives. Hence, for us to be fruitful we have to accept the Father’s pruning (John 15:2-10) from the thorns that choke the fruit, which are the thorns of the anxiety of this age, the deceit of riches and fleshly lusts. Therefore, let us cast our cares on Him so that we would find rest for our souls (Mat 11:29) likewise, let us reject the love of money (Heb 13:5) and also abstain from fleshly lusts (1Pe 2:11) so that our fruit would grow and increase (Mar 4:7.19.20)
